MediaTrac is seeking a mid-level SQL Server 2000 DBA to join our team for a short term contract assignment.
To be the ideal candidate, you must have solid SQL Server 2000 administration skills, excellent
performance tuning and SQL optimization skills, and good communication skills. You must also be
a "self-starter" and "ready to hit the ground running." We need someone with a strong work ethic
and dedication to the project.

Responsibilities:
Your primary responsibility will be to optimize and tune the performance of our existing SQL Server 2000 databases, in other words: make them better, faster, stronger! Your secondary responsibility will be to create a disaster recovery plan for our production databases. There may be other responsibilities added depending on our needs and your skills.
Required skills and knowledge:

Must have extensive experience optimizing stored procedures and tuning SQL Server 2000 performance |
|
 |
Must be a T-SQL expert |
|
|
Must be willing to take a test or tests to prove your T-SQL optimization skills |
|
|
Must have extensive experience creating and implementing backup/disaster recovery plans |
|
|
Must have experience setting up and configuring SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services |
|
|
Must have excellent English communication skills |
Additional skills desired (but not required) for recruitment process:

Experience setting up and configuring SQL Server 2005 |
|
|
Experience setting up and configuring SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services |
|
|
Experience migrating from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005 |
This position is based in our San Ramon, California office and will not require travel.
